CNC Innovation trumpet anodized with dk style green

Installed the billet CNC Innovation trumpets.

The last trumpet is touching the clutch cylinder pump. Need to shave of some material or change to a shorter clutch pump to give the clearance.

Sounds gloriously nice and much better power right up the higher rev range to 8krpm.

Good upgrade for the engine bay.

The current clutch cylinder pump is from Honda installed by the previous owner.

The RH taken out from my car. 100mm body length.
The LH is from ae86. 80mm body length.

Bought a new ae86 clutch pump to get more clearance for the trumpet.

After installed the Ae86 pump no more clearance issue.
Nicely installed dk style trumpet by cnc innovation

Os Giken 250R

After about 30k km of driving pleasure in the ke70 4age 20v, it's time to swap out the old LSD oil for the rear axle for something more protection.

Trying out the new os giken 80W-250 v2 thicker lsd oil to reduce the friction and also noise from the higher 4.8 FD.

Hope to be able to protect the drive train from the abuse of hard driving.

Total used 1.2ltr of lsd oil.

Nice solid packaging
FR and made in Japan.
After 30k km time to make the switch.

Prothane bushing for the Ae86/Ke70

Got this set of total bushing kit for the Ae86 from Battle Garage.

Motion in control
Full PU bushing kit for the corolla aging chassis
Can't wait to fit it on the car and feel out the difference.

Updated: 6/12/25
Out goes the aging rubber bushing from the original old and soggy bushes from the old Toyota.
Front lower arms and the anti roll bar links bushes had been replaced with the new prothane PU bushes
Rear adjs cusco panhard rod bushing have all been replaced by the PU prothane bushes.
All 4 links had been replaced. Basically every undercarriage bushes had been replaced except the steering rack bushes. Will need to change those later.

Overall the car felt more solid and firm after the changes and also very direct and no lag during changes in directions.
Good for those wanting a lively communication with the car.

Never ending exhaust issue

After a short stint of running the fujitsubo regalis r, found that the power and response of the engine is considerably muted just like the sound. Probably due to the huge muffler and piping size.

Not wanting to sacrifice the nature and response of the 4throttle 4age 20v, I've decided to throw all the quietness out of the window and go all out with the power.

Found a jdm Trust Beatmax Ti muffler with 2.38" Inlet, which is much more suited with the power of the 1.6 NA.

Bought 1 of the muffler event hough the seller got it as a set from prolly an oddysey.

Went to the exhaust shop again to install my new found exhaust.

Taking off the fujitsubo muffler

Aligning the new Trust Beatmax exhaust into my 2.2" piping.
Completed the installation of my new exhaust.

After taking the car out and driving home. Found the engine power n response were much better than before but with the sacrifice of louder exhaust noise intruding into the car cabin. Not an option.

Exhaust time

Due to the loud exhaust noise from my raw and unobstructed cabin. Decided to change to a bigger and quiet exhaust.

Managed to find a huge fgk fujitsubo legalis r type evolution.

Inlet 2.7 inches and outlet 4.5 inches.
Length 24.5 inches width 10.5 inches.
Taken out from a subaru legacy 2.0T.
Cross fingers hopping for the best.

Comparison between the old and the new exhaust. Huge difference!
Kinda huge compare to the previous exhaust

Aligning the new exhaust to the piping.

Sounds much more quiet with bassy sound on high rpm but power n response are considerably reduce. Hmm.

Dial cam

After installation of the Tomei Poncam.

I did not set the cam in proper position. So figure out the best way to optimise the cam is to dial the cam.

Send it to a dial cam specialist called deng dial cam to set it proper.

Found out that the center line for the intake was slightly off at 124' due to head was skim w metal head gasket. And exhaust was set at 102' by previous mechanic. The specialist advance it to 110' for the exhaust to optimizer response and high end power.

Work in progress.
Only dialing cams.

After the work done. Power n response is much more better but still need touch up by tuner to retard the timing and probably a dyno to fully optimize the power.

Starter issue again

Having some cranking issue with the starter.

So decided to just swap the starter which I have service last time with the old one.

Newly service high speed starter from ae111.
Swapped out Old starter from ae80.

New starter back in the engine. Hopefully no starting issue after this. Need to place a heat shield to prevent the hot manifold from failing the starter.

Installing the new starter

Center cone

Felt some vibration on the steering wheel.

Mech. Recommended to install center cone to the wheel.

Did some measurements and found out that need to customize the size with OD 75mm (SSR mk-3) and ID 60.6mm (ae86) hub.

Did some soul searching and found a shop doing customize size for the center cone.

Ordered and got my parcel in a week time.

Custom center cone.

Installed the front cone.
And rear cone.
Complete with balancing. Hopefully no more vibration.
