Star Drift Challenge Round 2

On the 21st & 22nd of July 2007, the Star Drift Challenge was organized by Stargazer Scientific in collaboration with Drift.com.my, 80+ participants participated in this Round 2 challenge from all over Malaysia, Me and my friends went down to have some fun drifting in the biggest empty land strategically located in the center of A'Famosa Resort. But I didn't not participate in the event, instead I just go there to look for some nice action and to take some nice photos. First day was a drift practice for the drifters to hone their skills and to get the correct lining so that they can compete with full confidence on the second day.



One of our member got his car stuck up the kerb, just after 10 mins of practice due to aggressive under steer from the steering and lousy front tires. He Feint on the main straight just before the big 3rd gear corner and couldn't control his car resulted in a heavy under which causes the car flew up the kerb. These resulted in a broken steering rack and others unknown damage to the car. Due to this incident he had to tow his car back to KL because its not drivable anymore. Its really sad to retire so early after paying so much for this event and its not cheap to tow the car back to KL which is about 1++km.




For me I took some nice photos of the drifters drifting furiously until it started raining heavily, So just stay in the pit to relax and also do some taxi ride from one of the member.
Went back home after an exhausting outing but is all worth it.

The second day was competition day which in the ACE category was won by Tengku Tdjan Ley while second position was Ivan Lau and third, Hanizam Hamzah. For more info on the results .
